Care shaped around people, place and community

Our Homes

Personalised care in one of Britain's most beautiful counties

Cumbria is a county where community still matters. From bustling market towns and historic coastal communities to peaceful villages surrounded by lakes and fells, it’s a place where people value familiar faces, meaningful connections and a slower pace of life.

At Westcott Care, we believe needing care shouldn’t mean leaving that behind. Whether you’re looking for residential care in Cumbria, exploring dementia care in Cumbria, searching for a nursing home in Cumbria, or considering respite care in Cumbria, our homes provide personalised support built around the individual, helping people continue living life in the way that feels right for them.

We also support families looking for dementia support in Cumbria, and where appropriate, palliative care in Cumbria, with compassionate, person-led care tailored to individual needs.

ABOUT US

Proud to be part of local life

Every Westcott home reflects the community around it.

From welcoming local groups through our doors to building lasting relationships with schools, charities and community organisations, we believe care should always feel connected to the places people call home. Families are encouraged to remain part of everyday life, spending meaningful time together, celebrating special occasions and continuing the routines and relationships that matter most.

It’s a simple philosophy, but one that shapes everything we do: creating homes where people don’t simply receive support, they continue to feel like themselves.

OUR STORY

Why Westcott Care began

If you’re lying awake wondering whether you’re making the right decision, you’re not alone. Most families feel exactly the same. We’ll help you work through it together. In fact, Westcott Care began because one family experienced just how difficult it could be to find care that truly felt right.

That experience inspired our founder, Andrew Whelan, to create homes where kindness, honesty and individuality would always come before processes and paperwork. The postcode may change. The feeling of home shouldn’t. Today, that same belief runs through every Westcott home. We see the person first, and help families feel supported and residents feel valued from the moment they walk through the door.

Read more about Andrew’s story and the values that continue to shape Westcott Care.
